Legacy planning takes a team.
If you own a business, invest in real estate, or have built real wealth, you already know one person cannot do it all. A life insurance policy can be one strong piece. But it works best when your attorney, your CPA, and your agent work from the same plan.

Good pieces, built apart, may not fit together.
Your attorney has one set of papers. Your CPA has one view of your taxes. An agent may have sold you a policy. Nobody has seen the whole picture.
That is how gaps happen: the wrong owner on a policy, a trust that does not match the plan, or a tax surprise nobody planned for.
Who does what.
Estate planning attorney
What they do: Drafts wills, trusts, and other legal papers. Explains how your wishes are carried out under Florida law.
When you need them: When you want your family cared for, you own property, you have kids, or you want a policy owned inside a trust.
CPA or tax professional
What they do: Looks at your taxes today and in the future. Reviews how a policy fits your tax picture under current tax law.
When you need them: Before you fund a policy, take loans or withdrawals, or make any big change.
Insurance agent (Barbara)
What they do: Explains life insurance options, designs policies, and handles applications. I am one piece of the puzzle, not the whole plan.
When you need them: When you want to protect your family or learn how a cash value policy could fit.
Business attorney
What they do: Handles business agreements, such as a buy-sell agreement and key person planning.
When you need them: If you own a business or partner with others, and want a plan if an owner or key person is gone.
Real estate or investment professional
What they do: Helps you buy, manage, and review properties or investments, and how they fit your goals.
When you need them: If you invest in real estate or other assets and want to see how a policy would sit next to them.
Banker or lender
What they do: Explains loan terms when you borrow against a policy or use it with another loan.
When you need them: Only if you plan to borrow against a policy or pair it with other financing.
You may not need every role. We will look at your situation and tell you who you likely need.
What wealthy families often do.
You may have seen the “Rockefeller method” or “waterfall” online. It is often described as a way a wealthy family keeps wealth moving from one generation to the next.
The idea, in plain words: wealthy families commonly use permanent life insurance owned inside a trust. Attorneys and CPAs set up the trust and the tax plan, and the policy is one part of it. Think of water flowing down from one pool to the next.
Here is the honest part. The online “magic loop” claim, that one policy can do all of this on its own, is oversold. It is a team-built plan, not one policy. That is why this page is about the team.
Section 7702 of the tax code defines life insurance for tax purposes. Under current tax law, how a policy is owned and used matters. A tax professional and an attorney should review it.
Honest, transparent options.
Barbara’s promise
I will show you honest, transparent options. I will explain how a policy is designed and how I am paid. And I will tell you plainly when a policy alone is not enough, and who you should talk to next.

I know my place on your team.

A plan with gaps can cost your family.
If you wait and guess

If you plan with open eyes
- Your attorney, CPA, and agent work from one plan
- You know what each person is responsible for
- Your wishes are clearer for the people you love
What to know before you decide
Cash value policies are long-term. Building cash value usually takes years, and policies have costs and fees. Only the guarantees written in a policy contract are guaranteed, and they depend on the insurance company’s claims-paying ability. Dividends, credited interest, and illustrated values are not guaranteed. Policy loans accrue interest, and loans and withdrawals reduce the cash value and the death benefit. A policy can lapse if it is not funded properly, which can have tax consequences. Indexed policies are not direct investments in the market, and their upside is capped. Tax treatment depends on current law and your situation, so please speak with a CPA or tax professional. Crowned Empire shares education only and does not give legal or tax advice. Coverage is subject to underwriting and approval. Examples on this page are general and are not a plan for your situation.
Good to know.
Do I need all of these professionals?
Not always. It depends on your family, your business, and your assets. We look at your situation and I tell you who you likely need.
Can one life insurance policy do it all?
No. A policy is one piece. Online claims that one policy can do everything are oversold. A team-built plan is stronger.
Do you give legal or tax advice?
No. Crowned Empire shares education only. Please work with a licensed attorney and a tax professional for legal and tax questions.
What is a buy-sell agreement?
It is a legal agreement among business owners about what happens to a share of the business if an owner dies or leaves. Life insurance can be one way to fund it. A business attorney sets it up.
What is key person coverage?
Insurance a business buys on someone whose loss would hurt the business, so the business has money to steady itself. A business attorney and your CPA should review it.
Why does the banker or lender matter?
Only if you borrow against a policy or use it with other financing. They explain the loan terms, and you should compare them with your tax professional.
Is the call free?
Yes. It is free, about 30 minutes, with no obligation.
